My love for the ocean and the gift of God's love through the seashells he gave us. Ever since, I was old enough to walk through the sand and I explored the natures of the ocean's water the amazing curiosity and incredible colors and shapes of seashells found at the shore of different beaches just amazed me to no end. I remember when I was growing up the trips to the different beaches. How happy it made me! I picked so many seashells and brought them home and put them in jars for later admiration and happy remembrance.
The years went by and I acquired many seashell decorated creations none made by me (seashell boxes, mirrors, etc.). My first seashell decorated mirror was heart shaped so many beautiful colors and I was so happy to admire it every day since, I hung it in the dining room and every time my family and I sat to eat there it was for all of us to admire it. As years went by I asked God to guide me towards something that I can do in my life to make ends meet financially and that I could be happy and make others happy when they got whatever it was I was going to be doing. The day came that I wanted to give a gift to one of my family members that recently had acquire a beach house. I bought a mirror and brought out of the seashells I had collected through the years and as I spend many days planning and gluing seashells, my first seashell mirror was created. I got many compliments! I even amazed myself and couldn't believe that I had created such beautiful work of art!
Yes, work of art because I truly believe that arranging seashells to make a unique design is art. Seashell Art! I call myself a seashell artist. I took many art classes when I went to college and painted with acrylic but working with seashells was thoroughly more of a challenge. The years are going by and I thank God that he gave me this gift. I am blessed to be able to create each one of the seashell creations and to know that a piece of me goes to make others happy.
